It is one of the secrets to our success. To date, we have more than 4.3 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy built or in development, equal to nearly 2 million metric tons of carbon annually removed from the atmosphere. Our charitable giving program has invested more than $2.1 million in local community organizations.

Tom Hunt
Chief Executive Officer
Tom Hunt, a seasoned renewable energy executive with nearly 20 years of leadership, corporate development, and public policy experience, is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pivot Energy. Tom joined Pivot in 2018 as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, and was appointed to CEO in 2019. In 2021, he drove a process to bring in blue-chip Private Equity firm, ECP, as its new owner, enabling renewed pursuit of Pivot's mission of making distributed generation a key part of the fight against anthropogenic climate change. Tom has led Pivot’s organizational scale from solar developer – managing less than 10 MW – to renewable Independent Power Producer (IPP), owning and delivering hundreds of megawatts per year. Additionally, during his tenure as CEO, the company has grown by strong multiples in revenue, income, project deployment, and team members.
Further, as the 2025 passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBBB) brought policy uncertainty,Tom ensured the company remained focused and steady, while strategically and proactively navigating Pivot’s response. His leadership, coupled with Pivot’s preparation, steadfast determination, and due diligence, resulted in the company securing nearly $100 million in safe-harbor equipment purchases to further ensure future project continuity and protect dozens of projects in Pivot’s pipeline. Pivot emerged bullish about the future, with strong growth prospects, dedicated to making significant impacts in furthering access to reliable renewable energy across U.S. communities, providing renewable energy solutions to its partners, and delivering solar and energy storage to the grid.
A long-time community solar market leader, Tom is the founder and Board Chair for the Coalition for Community Solar Access (CCSA), the national community solar trade association focused on expanding solar access for American households and businesses.
Prior to Pivot, Tom was Senior Vice President of Corporate Development & Chief of Staff for Clean Energy Collective, the nation’s first community solar company. In this role, he also oversaw public policy, project construction, as well as initiated and implemented the market creation strategy. He was responsible for transforming community solar from a niche market to the fastest-growing sector of the solar industry – going from one active market to 17 states with community solar programs. Tom also worked as a Senior Policy Advisor in the Colorado Governor's Energy Office.
Tom is based at Pivot's Denver headquarters. His interests include the Colorado outdoors, ultimate frisbee, bluegrass music, and hanging out with his wife and three daughters.

Jackie Murphy
Chief Legal Officer, ESG Officer
Jackie Murphy serves as Chief Legal & ESG Officer at Pivot Energy, bringing more than 20 years of experience in corporate law, compliance, governance, litigation, and business strategy. She joined Pivot in 2019 as Vice President of Legal and the company’s sole attorney, and was promoted to Chief Legal & ESG Officer in 2021. Throughout her career, Jackie has led the closing of renewable energy transactions exceeding $1 billion in the United States and abroad.
As Chief Legal & ESG Officer, Jackie leads Pivot’s legal strategy and oversees the company’s legal, compliance, governance, ESG, and safety functions. Her practice spans debt and tax equity finance, tax credit transfers, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, litigation, employment matters, corporate governance, and complex project development transactions. She works closely with executive leadership across finance, development, policy, and operations to help navigate evolving regulatory frameworks and market risks affecting the renewable energy sector.
Jackie also serves as Pivot’s Safety Officer, overseeing the company’s safety governance framework and ensuring compliance with OSHA requirements and other applicable regulatory standards. In this role, she works across development, construction, and operations teams to support a culture of safety, regulatory compliance, and responsible project execution.
In her ESG leadership role, Jackie drives implementation of Pivot’s multi-year ESG roadmap, aligning the company’s environmental, social, and governance priorities with its broader business strategy. She oversees compliance initiatives, monitors progress toward ESG goals, and supports Pivot’s continued advancement as a mission-driven company, including its B Corporation certification. Jackie is known for combining strong legal judgment with pragmatic business leadership and for building cross-functional collaboration that supports sustainable company growth.
In 2024, she was named a Bronze Winner for “Climate Hero of the Year” by the Stevie Awards for Women in Business and was recognized in “The SustainabilityX Magazine Global 50 Women in Sustainability Awards™”.
Jackie is on the Board of Directors for the Solar Energy Industry Association (SEIA). She has also completed executive education and professional development programs through the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and participated in international programs at Charles University in Prague, further strengthening her expertise in global business, governance, and leadership. Before joining Pivot, Jackie served as General Counsel for renewable energy and development companies and was a trial attorney in both the United States and her native Ghana.
Jackie is based at Pivot’s Denver headquarters. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Bret oversees financial strategy and capital market activities. He leads all financial, strategic, and capital market-related activities for the company.
Bret Labadie
Chief Financial Officer
Bret Labadie, an energy sector financial leader and expert with more than 20 years of experience in escalating roles within energy companies, is Chief Financial Officer for Pivot Energy. Bret has spent 20 years in escalating roles within energy finance in both traditional and renewable energy. As CFO, he leads all financial, strategic, project finance, and capital markets-related activities for Pivot, within corporate finance, capital markets, strategic planning, and project finance.
Bret joined Pivot in 2020 as Vice President of Capital Markets and was promoted to CFO in 2022. Bret has consistently shown leadership in developing and executing upon innovative financing structures to solve strategic business needs enabling Pivot to mature into one of the leading distributed generation asset owners in the country. He and his team have been responsible for the closing of over $2 billion in various project financing transactions for Pivot since 2022 supporting over 1 GWdc of distributed generation projects.
Recently, he led two transformational financing arrangements: successfully securing a $450 million debt warehouse facility, led by First Citizens Bank and ATLAS SP Partners, and closing on a structured equity investment from HA Sustainable Infrastructure Capital, Inc. (HASI). These two financing arrangements helped support the construction of 300 MWdc of distributed generation projects that Pivot is developing across the U.S., and more importantly, helped establish a scalable financing foundation to support Pivot’s continued growth.
Prior to Pivot, Bret worked in senior leadership roles at Nikola Power and Clean Energy Collective – one of the first community solar developers in the country.
Bret is based in Pivot’s Denver headquarters and loves exploring the mountains of Colorado with his wife and three kids (9, 7, and 3). He also plays bass in a garage band with shows at various local bars around Denver.

Brit oversees Pivot’s day-to-day operations and ensures execution of the company’s strategy. She is a seasoned energy leader with broad experience in technology and program implementation.
Brit Gibson
Chief Operating Officer
Brit brings 20 years of experience in renewable energy and clean infrastructure to her role as Chief Operating Officer of Pivot Energy. She leads enterprise execution across the company’s integrated independent power producer (IPP) platform. Appointed to the role in 2024, she is responsible for translating corporate strategy into operational performance, overseeing project delivery, offtake management, technology, and sales to ensure disciplined growth and scalable execution nationwide.
Brit brings deep expertise in building and optimizing operating systems for high-growth organizations by enhancing cross-functional integration across commercial, technical, and administrative functions. She also excels at developing and implementing go-to-market strategies for a variety of technologies, products, and customer types – from energy efficiency to battery storage – that are driving the energy transition.
Brit joined Pivot in 2019 as Director of SunCentral, Pivot’s proprietary in-house client management and billing platform. During her tenure Brit has held successive executive roles as Vice President and Senior Vice President of Client Solutions, and Chief Commercial Officer. In these capacities, she shaped Pivot’s go-to-market strategy and expanded strategic partnerships with Fortune 500 partners including Google, Walmart, and Microsoft, and modernized internal processes and technology infrastructure to increase construction throughput and operational efficiency.
In recent years, her work has laid the foundation for operational and financial scale as an IPP in the age of AI. Brit also provides support to capital-raising efforts (more than $1B to date) and prioritizes talent development as a strategic lever for growth. She spearheaded Pivot’s internal mentoring program – the Edge Initiative – a cross-functional mentoring program designed to strengthen leadership capacity and enterprise cohesion.
Prior to Pivot, Brit worked in leadership roles at Clean Energy Collective, TERSUS Solutions, and Navigant Consulting (now Guidehouse). She is based at Pivot’s Denver headquarters. As a Colorado native, Brit takes personal and professional inspiration from the Rocky Mountains – skiing fresh powder, tackling trails on her mountain bike, and showing her two young children the sacredness of the outdoors.

Jon “Fitz” has developed and financed 150+ MW of distributed solar projects across the U.S. He oversees project diligence, permitting, interconnections, and financing preparations, ensuring projects are efficiently brought to commercial operation.
Jon Fitzpatrick
Chief Development Officer
Jon Fitzpatrick, a renewable energy project development expert with more than 15 years of experience leading completion of up to 20 megawatts of distributed-scale solar projects across North America, is Chief Development Officer for Pivot Energy.
In his role as Chief Development Officer, Jon oversees project diligence and development along with engineering and procurement. He collaborates with participating utilities and local, regional, and state jurisdictional authorities to bring projects through complex permitting processes and secure administrative and discretionary approvals to qualify land to host solar projects for 20+ years. Jon also works closely with Pivot's project developers across dozens of markets to ensure projects are reviewed and entitled so they can quickly be constructed and brought online.
Jon joined Pivot in 2017 as Director of Project Development. Prior to being named Chief Development Officer in 2024, he served as Vice President and Senior Vice President of Project Development. During his tenure, Jon has been responsible for consistent growth and delivery in Pivot’s emerging and established markets, managing a pipeline from Pivot’s origination team of more than 1.5GW annually.
Throughout this career, Jon has overseen the development of more than 3.4 gigawatts (GW) of community solar projects across the mountain west, midwest, mid-atlantic, and northeast U.S. He has developed new markets, expanded existing markets, and pioneered creative solutions to complex problems in order to bring projects to commercial operation. Since 2012, Jon has participated in more than 200 public hearings, securing permit and community buy-in for solar development and worked with dozens of permitting agencies to create and amend land use codes that support responsible solar development.
Prior to Pivot, Jon was in leadership roles at Clean Energy Collective and Bella Energy, Inc. He is the executive sponsor of Pivot’s annual Movember movement, supporting donations for cancer and mental health research and support, exceeding $10,000 annually. Jon works at Pivot’s Denver headquarters. When he’s not in the Pivot offices, Jon can be found sneaking in a trail run, shuttling children to extracurricular activities, or restoring order to the forest with his chainsaw on 40 acres outside of Fort Collins, CO.
