We are excited to release Pivot Energy’s 2019 Impact Report. As a Certified B Corporation, we operate on a triple bottom line basis, meaning our activities are oriented towards having a positive impact on people, planet, and profit. At our core, we exist as a company to be a leader in the battle against global warming, working every day to make distributed generation a major part of the solution.
2019 was a year of tremendous growth and learning not only at Pivot, but also in the greater solar industry. This year, we recertified as a B Corp, grew our team by over 40%, and continued to expand our software arm of the business, SunCentral. At the same time, we were confronted by challenges; the House did not extend the solar federal tax credit, and communities across the nation continued to face the impacts of global warming. We need to continue to be intentional with our actions, take a hard look at our carbon footprint as a company, and innovate and improve to fulfill our vision.
Our triple bottom line approach has developed into a key component of our company culture, and we believe it is one of the secrets of our success. We hope this report inspires others to lead and use business for good.
